Job Description

The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to provide empathetic support to patients recovering from surgery. This role involves comprehensive patient assessments, medication management, vital sign monitoring, and coordination of post-operative care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough patient evaluations, including medical history, surgical details, and vital signs.
  • Manage patient pain effectively through medication and interventions.
  • Maintain airway patency and proper oxygenation, with possible support after general anesthesia.
  • Monitor patients regaining consciousness from anesthesia and watch for potential complications.
  • Provide clear information about post-operative care to patients and their families.
  • Prepare patients for transfer or discharge, coordinating follow-up care as needed.
Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • An active RN license within the jurisdictional region.
  • A valid BLS certificate from the American Heart Association.
  • A current ACLS card or be able to obtain it within 6 months of hire.
  • PALS certification is also required.
  • Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, including potential complications and specific post-operative care needs.
  • Excellent practical communication skills.
