Job Summary:

As an Inventory Controller at Restaurant Depot, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient operation of our inventory management system. You will work closely with Assistant Branch Managers and Branch Managers to maintain accurate physical inventory levels, manage stockroom operations, and provide exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain accurate physical inventory levels and conduct regular cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy.

Collaborate with the Receiving, Perishables, Dry Goods Floor, and Front End teams to ensure low stock, out-of-stock, negative on-hand, and computer inventory discrepancies are resolved.

Analyze sales price differential reports to identify pricing issues and make adjustments as needed.

Communicate with buyers to resolve margin issues and ensure timely responses.

Train staff on inventory procedures and conduct semi-annual inventories.

Supervise Stock-takers and coordinate writing of adjustment vouchers to vendors for damages.

Maintain liquor and tobacco tax filings with government agencies and report shrinkage and research causes.

Control markdowns and voids by monitoring damages and overstock, and analyze reasons for negative inventory and margins.

Review store statistical reports for abnormal or erroneous data.

Requirements:

Minimum 4 years of experience in retail or wholesale.

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

Background in physical inventory maintenance and control.

Proven leadership skills and ability to supervise and direct employees.

Effective communication and presentation skills.

Ability to calculate figures and amounts, and be PC literate with working knowledge of MS Office.

Physical Requirements:

Lift/carry abilities: lift 50 lbs, carry 50 lbs, frequently lift/carry 50 lbs, constant lift/carry 20 lbs, occasional push/pull 450 lbs.

Physical aptitudes: agility/dynamic balance 80-100%, finger dexterity 80-100%, manual dexterity 80-100%, posture tolerance: stand/walk for up to 4 hours, reach above shoulder level occasionally, twist/turn head frequently, bend over/stoop frequently, climb steps/ladder occasionally, kneel/squat occasionally.

Work Environment:

Work in a warehouse environment with moderate ambient temperature, performing inventory in refrigerated areas and freezers.

Industrial vehicles (forklifts, Hilo) moving material throughout the warehouse.
