Position Overview:

This is an entry-level role focused on mastering the operation of a paper converting sheeter. As a press operator trainee, you will be tasked with managing the sheeter and packaging machinery to facilitate seamless operations while adhering to the highest quality standards set by our clients. Key responsibilities include identifying and resolving machine issues, making necessary adjustments for optimal performance, and conducting thorough quality inspections. This role is classified as safety-sensitive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Learn to operate the EvTec sheeter equipped with a Martin automatic splicer, Sollas poly wrapper, and strapper.
  • Understand the paper converting workflow from roll to cut sheet, ensuring the finished product is properly packaged. After training, you will take charge of operating and maintaining the equipment, including wrapping the finished product.
  • Prepare and set up cut sheet jobs.
  • Gain knowledge in perf settings, slitter adjustments, webbing the press, and making necessary modifications to press and packaging equipment.
  • Monitor machinery and job performance throughout the production process to ensure quality and consistency.
  • Perform cleaning, lubrication, adjustments, and minor repairs on equipment.
  • Load paper rolls onto the press.
  • Manually package finished products.
  • Stamp lot numbers on cartons.
  • Inspect materials and products at each stage of the packaging process.
  • Accurately place items in appropriately sized cartons or envelopes, sealing and labeling them accordingly.
  • Review job specifications to confirm accuracy.
  • Ensure all necessary materials are available at the press.
  • Sort bundles based on their designated destinations.
  • Package and box finished products from the production line.
  • Stack completed cartons on pallets.
  • Engage in various tasks requiring a solid understanding of techniques, materials, and equipment.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Preferred 2-3 years of experience in a fast-paced, light industrial setting.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Team-oriented, self-motivated, adaptable, detail-oriented, and quality-focused.
  • Reliable and punctual.
  • Experience in offset printing is advantageous.
