Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic - Wastewater Treatment Plant

The Public Works Department of Kitsap County is seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join our team. As a key member of our wastewater treatment plant operations, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and replacement of mechanical equipment associated with wastewater treatment plants and sewage pump stations.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the operation, maintenance, repair, and replacement of assigned mechanical equipment.
  • Perform routine assignments independently, subject to final inspection.
  • Work with a variety of gasoline, propane, and diesel-powered equipment.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Three years of work experience as a maintenance mechanic in a wastewater treatment plant, water treatment plant, or related field.
  • Equivalent combination of experience and education that provides the desired knowledge, skills, and ability required to perform the work.
Additional Requirements:
  • Valid Washington State Driver's License.
  • Current driving record/abstract from the state of residency.
  • CDL Driver: Operating County-owned vehicles and CDL vehicles.

This position offers a competitive hourly rate, ranging from $26.25 to $37.08. Additionally, we provide medical, dental, vision, life insurance, a pension retirement, and other voluntary benefits.
