Parrish Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Transcriptionist to join our team. As a Medical Transcriptionist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of patient care by transcribing physician orders and maintaining patient records.
Key Responsibilities- Transcription and Documentation: Transcribe physician orders through computer entry, maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- Monitor Observation: Observe cardiac monitors for arrhythmias, notifying the RN and maintaining monitor logs and ECG strips for documentation.
- Receptionist Duties: Respond to patient, staff, physician, and visitor requests, demonstrating excellent telephone etiquette and interpersonal communication skills.
- Record Maintenance: Update patient demographics, record vital signs, print Pharmacy Profile, print worksheets and reports, and obtain Lab results as requested.
- Supply Management: Order supplies on a weekly basis, maintain unit inventory of chart and office supplies, and assemble and maintain a supply of chart admission paperwork.
- Quality Monitoring: Participate in Quality Monitoring/Performance Improvement initiatives.
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience: No experience required.
- Certifications: Unit Secretary Certification preferred, EKG Monitor Certification preferred.
