Company Overview:

Empire Staffing Network is an employee-owned organization specializing in the production of custom open die and rolled ring forgings for critical applications globally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize hand grinders or overhead grinders to eliminate material imperfections.
  • Collaborate with Blacksmiths or relevant forge personnel to coordinate pre-forge loading.
  • Manage the loading, unloading, and operation of furnaces to adhere to production schedules for forging and post-forge thermal cycles, following the forge manual.
  • Remove scrap from press pits and dispose of it appropriately, ensuring accurate weight documentation.
  • Identify and verify materials based on shop orders, inspect for defects, and transport materials, scrap, and forgings throughout the production area.
  • Operate press support equipment, including long reaches and forklifts, as needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness in the work environment by performing general housekeeping duties, including cleaning furnaces and floors.
  • Repair forge tools using welding or grinding techniques.
  • Actively contribute to fostering a safe and healthy workplace by adhering to policies and procedures aimed at minimizing industrial accidents.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED with relevant completion.
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and shop mathematics (including measurement and metric conversions).

Essential Skills:

  • Proficient in reading tape measures and interpreting blueprints.
  • Capable of performing diverse tasks and responding swiftly to challenges.
  • Experience with micrometers or calipers is advantageous.
  • Prior experience in heavy equipment operation is preferred.
  • Familiarity with crane rigging and operation is beneficial.
  • Relevant experience may include metal fabrication, heavy equipment operation, machine operation, roofing, seal coating, forging, casting, measurements, band saws, boring, gauges, grinding, trimming, manufacturing, overhead crane operation, material handling, and farm equipment operation.
