Job Summary

PRISM Vision Group is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Technician to join our team. As an Ophthalmic Technician, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our physicians in delivering high-quality eye care services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough patient evaluations, including visual acuity tests and ocular and systemic history assessments.
  • Perform a range of diagnostic tests, such as automated refractometry, slit lamp examinations, and ocular muscle motility testing.
  • Administer diagnostic tests, including OCT, automated visual fields, and photography.
  • Assist with in-office procedures, ensuring proper informed consent and maintaining a clean and organized environment.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest medical technologies and procedures, participating in ongoing training and education.
Requirements
  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) required; Bachelor's degree in a relevant field highly preferred.
  • 2-4 years of prior ophthalmic assistant experience.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) certification.
  • Experience with electronic medical records (EMRs) and practice management systems (PMS).
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and Athena PMS.
