We are seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to join our team in Boston. As a key member of our electrical engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and documenting building electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting design, fire alarm, security, audio/visual, and telecommunications systems.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Performing analysis, design, and documentation of building electrical systems
  • Providing electrical engineering services on small to medium-sized projects
  • Revising, reviewing, and coordinating construction documents
  • Mentoring and training junior-level staff
  • Developing solutions to challenging electrical power distribution and lighting systems
  • Contributing to SmithGroup's sustainable design initiatives
  • Assisting with construction site visits

An ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or equivalent, and a minimum of 5 years of experience working as an electrical engineer designing electrical power distribution and lighting systems for new and renovated healthcare, research lab, higher ed, and other critical building types.

LEED AP, Engineering-in-Training certification, and in-progress PE license are preferred. Proficiency in Revit and/or AutoCAD and Microsoft Office is required.
