Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Wildlife Conservation Technician to join our team as a Quail Habitat Specialist. This role will be responsible for conducting field monitoring and evaluation on wildlife programs to document the effectiveness of conservation practices on quail, pollinators, and native grassland plant communities.

About the Role

This position will involve extensive travel throughout the state to complete monitoring assignments, working closely with private landowners, and collaborating with Quail Forever and UGA staff to streamline monitoring efforts on USDA funded projects. The successful candidate must have strong interpersonal skills, ability to work independently, and be comfortable navigating to off-trail locations for point counts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct in-field monitoring and evaluation on wildlife programs
  • Collect data on quail, pollinators, and native grassland plant communities
  • Work with private landowners to implement conservation practices
  • Collaborate with Quail Forever and UGA staff to streamline monitoring efforts
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Range Management, Agriculture, Forestry, Wildlife Management or related field
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in wildlife conservation or related field
  • Strong knowledge of wildlife ecology, grassland management, and conservation practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
