Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage, troubleshoot, and update cyber security monitoring systems, including Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) solutions.
  • Analyze Security Controls Analysis documentation as part of the Cyber Security Assessment Team (CSAT).
  • Engage with the Security Incident Response Team (CSIRT) to address security incidents.
  • Examine Critical Digital Assets (CDAs) for potential security breaches and ensure adherence to the Cyber Security Plan.
  • Conduct scans for unauthorized wireless access points and monitor CDAs for suspicious connections.
  • Implement hardening measures for Windows and Linux workstations and servers.
  • Review industry standards for cyber security and apply relevant principles to critical systems and assets.
  • Identify vulnerabilities in cyber security controls and propose technical or administrative solutions for remediation.
  • Evaluate Change Management Records and Design Change Packages for compliance with cyber security standards.
  • Review cyber security policies, standards, and procedures to align with programmatic requirements.
  • Conduct periodic scans and maintain removable media enrolled in the Portable Media Device program.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Cyber Security, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Systems with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience as a Cyber Security Analyst.
  • Preferred Skills: Experience with network switches, firewalls, network security devices, Active Directory, cyber forensics, and cyber security.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and collaboration tools.
  • Experience with Security Information and Event Monitoring (SIEM) systems, including alert management and event dispositioning.
  • Administration of File Integrity Management (FIM) systems, including client management and report generation.
  • Knowledge of network design and security, system hardening, and firewall management for Windows or Linux operating systems.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, communicate effectively with team members and clients, and make informed decisions.
  • Understanding of cyber security principles and defense-in-depth strategies.
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies, anti-malware solutions, and backup/recovery software.
  • Experience in cyber security controls analysis and access control systems.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and implementation of best practices in cyber security and compliance.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present ideas and recommendations effectively.
  • Certifications: Security+, Network+, GSEC, CISSP, or similar; completion of SANS 401 and 504 is a plus.
