Position Summary: The Agricultural Loan Specialist (Poultry Focus) is responsible for generating new business, structuring, and finalizing agricultural loans while managing and servicing an existing client portfolio. This role emphasizes building relationships and developing business opportunities within the poultry sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Business Development:
    • Engage with the community to identify potential clients through networking with real estate professionals, legal advisors, poultry integrators, and by reviewing landowner publications.
    • Analyze business intelligence reports to uncover growth opportunities in the regional market and poultry sector.
    • Participate in auctions and events to connect with current and prospective clients.
    • Establish partnerships with strategic stakeholders to enhance visibility and awareness of Oklahoma AgCredit in the poultry industry.
    • Represent the organization at community and industry events.
    • Maintain strong relationships with existing clients through regular communication.
  • Loan Generation and Support:
    • Build and nurture relationships with new and existing clients to drive business growth.
    • Engage potential clients to assess their needs and present Oklahoma AgCredit's offerings.
    • Gather loan applications and necessary documentation.
    • Collaborate with the Credit Team for comprehensive credit analysis.
    • Coordinate with the Consumer Loan department for initial disclosures.
    • Manage loan renewals and annual reviews in conjunction with the Credit Team.
    • Ensure compliance with loan requirements and communicate decisions to clients.
    • Provide necessary information to the Loan Processing Team for document preparation.
  • Loan Closing:
    • Review and compile loan documents to meet high standards for external audits.
    • Ensure proper lien positions are established.
    • Facilitate loan closings among all parties involved to ensure accurate execution of documents.
    • Obtain final title opinions and policies post-closing.
    • Verify loan booking by reviewing and signing loan review memos.
  • Portfolio Management:
    • Monitor existing loans for potential rate conversion opportunities.
    • Oversee servicing actions, including partial releases and liability releases.
    • Manage loan refinances and conversions.
    • Engage with delinquent accounts to create resolution plans.
    • Collect on loans when necessary, which may involve legal proceedings.
  • Field Reporting:
    • Schedule and conduct field inspections.
    • Assess and document proposed collateral.
    • Compile photographs, valuations, and summaries of client operations.
    • Complete educational requirements for chattel valuations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in agribusiness, agricultural economics, finance, business, or a related field.
  • At least one year of relevant experience in agriculture or financial services, or a combination of education and experience sufficient to perform essential job functions.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Understanding of the agriculture and poultry sectors, along with agricultural economics and marketing strategies.
  • Ability to interpret financial statements, balance sheets, and tax returns.
  • Strong listening skills to address customer concerns effectively.
  • Persuasive communication skills to promote products and services.
  • Proficiency in various software applications to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
