Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain Accurate Patient Records
    • Ensure that patient charts are current, complete, and up-to-date according to established policies and procedures.
  • Schedule Diagnostic Procedures and Exams
    • Correctly schedule diagnostic procedures, exams, and special procedures in a timely manner.
  • Transcribe Physician Orders
    • Accurately transcribe physician orders and ensure that they are implemented in a timely manner.
  • Manage Supplies and Equipment
    • Adequately order, store, and maintain supplies and equipment.
  • Communicate Effectively
    • Act as a liaison between physicians, nursing staff, hospital departments, families, guests, and patients.
  • Recognize and Report Arrhythmia
    • Accurately recognize and report arrhythmia and computer data according to established policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Education and Experience
    • High school diploma or equivalent and successful completion of an approved arrhythmia course.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Successful completion of Unit Secretary orientation and an approved arrhythmia course within three months of hire date or two attempts.
    • Keyboarding skills required; must pass keyboarding skills assessment.

Work Environment

This is a non-management position that will report to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive.
