We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Automotive Tag and Title Clerk to join our team at Ted Britt Auto Group. As an Automotive Tag and Title Clerk, you will be responsible for verifying and processing documentation for new and used vehicle transactions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process title transfers, issue license plates, and complete paperwork for vehicle purchases
  • Ensure that all paperwork is properly completed and that all documents are in compliance with state and federal regulations
  • Collect sales tax, registration fees, and title fees
  • Verify information on title applications, such as lienholders, odometer readings, and evidence of insurance coverage
  • Maintain records of titles, registrations, and renewals
  • Answer customer inquiries regarding vehicle titles and registrations
  • Prepare and issue certificate of titles, temporary tags and registration cards
  • Process vehicle registrations for customers
  • Enter data into computer database
  • Update records as necessary
  • File appropriate paperwork with state or local agencies
  • Assist customers in understanding the title and registration process
Requirements:
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Must have a basic understanding of motor vehicle laws and regulations
  • Must have a basic understanding of vehicle registration processes
  • Must be able to use computer systems for data entry and retrieval
  • Must have excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Must be able to multi-task and multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Must have strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
