Job DescriptionWilliams-Keepers LLC is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Tax Staff to join our team. As a Tax Staff, you will be responsible for preparing complex tax returns for clients, applying accounting principles and technical tax procedures to tax and accounting assignments, and identifying problem areas in the return that need to be discussed with the supervisor.Responsibilities:
  • Preparing complex individual, corporate, partnership, and various other tax returns for clients.
  • Applying accounting principles and technical tax procedures to tax and accounting assignments.
  • Identifying problem areas in the return that need to be discussed with the supervisor.
  • Preparing clear and concise work papers with definitive conclusions.
  • Developing familiarity with the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) principles.
  • Researching tax problems and documenting their results.
  • Developing a solid foundation of tax preparation techniques.
  • Completing other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in accounting or have completed the hours required to sit for the CPA exam.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite and Adobe software platforms.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy, with a focus on delivering high-quality results.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Analytical mindset with problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Performance Expectations:
  • Follow regulations and professional ethics of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and Missouri Society of Certified Public Accountants (MSCPA).
  • Adhere to all firm policies and procedures, as outlined in the Associate Handbook.
  • Be pleasant, courteous, and helpful with staff and clients.
  • Be efficient and organized when carrying out tasks.
  • Maintain a neat and organized work environment for maximum efficiency and productivity.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all client and business transactions.
  • Effectively manage numerous tasks and projects.
  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrate a professional attitude and support a teamwork-oriented environment.
  • Develop positive working relationships with clients and co-workers.
  • Must have exceptional attendance.
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 25 – 50 pounds at times.
  • Extended hours are required at certain times throughout the year, depending on client needs.
