Warden - Correctional Facility Administrator

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced individual to join our leadership team as a Warden. Under the direction of the Deputy Assistant Director, the Warden will serve as the administrator of a multi-custody and multi-unit facility. Working with a team of Deputy Wardens, the ideal candidate will have experience in leading and developing diverse groups of staff, progressive administrative experience in managing inmate populations, monitoring and directing unit operations, security, inmate programming, and be responsible for ensuring the facility applies modern correctional practices. The successful candidate has excellent communication and critical thinking skills, uses data in the decision-making process, and has the ability to manage a fast-paced environment with quickly changing priorities.
Key Responsibilities:
The Warden will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of facility operations, including security, programs, administration, and support services. This will involve developing and implementing strategic plans, policies, and procedures to maintain a safe and rehabilitative environment. The Warden will also represent the organization and maintain positive relationships with relevant stakeholders, including government agencies and community partners.
Leadership and Administration:
The Warden will be responsible for leading and developing a team of staff members, including correctional officers and administrative personnel. This will involve hiring, training, and supervising staff, as well as providing guidance, mentorship, and professional development opportunities to enhance staff performance and effectiveness.
Safety and Security:
The Warden will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and correctional standards to maintain a secure environment. This will involve implementing and overseeing effective security protocols, emergency preparedness plans, and incident management procedures.
Inmate Management and Rehabilitation:
The Warden will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of evidence-based programs and services that support inmate rehabilitation and successful reintegration into society. This will involve evaluating and monitoring inmate behavior, progress, and compliance with facility rules and regulations.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of state and federal laws, rules, and regulations governing the Department's operations. They will also have experience in modern correctional management and supervision techniques, as well as fiscal management and project planning.
