Program Overview:
Are you aspiring to become a proficient ICU nurse? UPMC Presbyterian, recognized as a Magnet designated hospital, is currently seeking a Full-time Registered Nurse to join our Neuro Division.
Fast Track to ICU Program:
This program is meticulously designed to equip you with the essential skills to thrive as a confident ICU nurse. Your initial year will be spent on one of our neuro units, with subsequent placement in either the Trauma Neuro ICU or Neuro ICU.
Unit Descriptions:
- 5G Trauma Neuro: A 22-bed progressive care unit focusing on complex brain and spinal cord trauma, stroke, and neurosurgical patients.
- 6D Neurosurgery: An 18-bed unit specializing in stroke care and post-operative patients from craniotomies and spinal surgeries.
- 8G Trauma Neuro: A 23-bed unit dedicated to neurologic and neurosurgical patients, including those requiring step-down care.
- 4G Trauma Neuro ICU: A 10-bed critical care facility for patients with acute traumatic and neurologic injuries.
- 4F/5F Neuro ICU: A 20-bed unit for patients with acute neurologic injuries, including post-operative care for craniotomy patients.
Performance Expectations:
To transition into the ICU, employees must demonstrate strong performance during their first year, maintain a positive record, and meet all expectations of their hiring unit.
Work Schedule:
Our Registered Nurses work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays, to ensure continuous coverage.
Benefits:
- Generous Sign-On Bonus of up to $15,000 based on experience.
- Monthly Loan Repayment Program for eligible nursing graduates.
- Up to five and a half weeks of Paid Time Off annually, plus seven paid holidays.
- Tuition reimbursement of up to $6,000 per academic year for employees and their dependents.

Compensation:
The minimum rate of pay for a non-BSN Professional Staff Nurse is $31. Graduate Nurses eligible for State Board Licensure and experienced Staff Nurses will be considered for this position.

The individual must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care and interact appropriately with patients of various ages. Critical thinking and clinical judgment are essential for effective patient care.
