This Senior Substation Relay Technician position comes with a competitive compensation package, including a salary range of $40-$80 per hour, commensurate with experience, education, and qualifications. Additionally, we offer semi-annual profit-sharing bonuses based on company profits, which have ranged between 3.5%-11.5% of annual salary in the past.

Job Summary

As a Senior Substation Relay Technician, you will have primary focus on individual projects, exercising limited judgment within your existing knowledge area. Your tasks will include overseeing project progress, providing solutions to technical problems, designing, operating, and maintaining systems with minimal impact on existing systems, as well as utilizing strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.

This role requires competencies that enable you to work independently with minimal supervision, complete tasks in a self-directed manner, and adhere to project timelines and budgets. You will also be responsible for using various computer programs, including Adobe Acrobat Pro.

Requirements

To be successful in this position, you should have:

  • A 4-year BS Engineering Degree from an ABET-accredited institution
  • A Professional Engineer (PE) Certificate
  • At least 6 years of experience in testing, commissioning, or P&C engineering
  • 12-18 months of experience as a Relay Technician (I, II) or equivalent, with competency to be determined by management
  • A valid driver's license
  • The ability to pass a background and drug screening
