Position Overview
The Hospital Security Specialist is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of hospital premises and its occupants. This role involves regular patrols of the facility to identify and mitigate potential risks, as well as responding to emergencies and providing assistance as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Conducts visible foot and vehicle patrols to prevent fire hazards, accidents, policy violations, and criminal activities.
- Maintains accurate and timely documentation of incidents and relevant occurrences.
- Assists staff, visitors, and patients with inquiries, lost property, transportation needs, and access to restricted areas.
- Communicates effectively with patients, visitors, and healthcare team members to provide necessary information and support.
- Handles conflicts through verbal de-escalation techniques and appropriate interventions.
- Responds to and investigates suspicious activities or emergencies, ensuring a swift and effective resolution.
- Engages in ongoing professional development to enhance skills and knowledge relevant to security operations.

Qualifications
Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Must be at least 21 years old and possess a valid driver's license.
- Certifications in First Aid and Basic Life Support (BLS) are required within specified timeframes.
Preferred:
- Associate's Degree in Public Administration or Criminal Justice.
- Two years of relevant experience in a similar role.
- Experience in law enforcement or military service.
