Senior Solution Architect - Data Analytics

Cigna Individual & Family Plans (IFP) IT Team is seeking a highly motivated experienced Architecture Senior Advisor who can deliver value for the business through their deep understanding of the business functions, gain quick understanding of existing systems and technology landscape with ability to influence others, both within and across functions in the Govt. Business Segment, foster innovation, and propel our agile transformation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with business and teams to identify opportunities and needs, define strategy and define the architecture solution, delivery of tools, systems, interfaces and reporting.
  • Ensure that IT solutions align to defined business strategies and use influence to ensure execution meets long term objectives, architecture runway, and market needs.
  • Manage the relationship among IT, Business and Operations partners at all levels, within all the organizations.
  • Engage with business and enterprise architects to create data strategy, vision and communicate vision into tangible solutions to the business.
  • Operate within an economic framework when analyzing the impact of design decisions.
  • Participate in planning and high-level design of the solution and exploration of solution alternatives Review end to end design by delivery team and provide guidance with accountability.
  • Provide reference implementation on new solution, patterns and technology products.
  • Ensure high quality solution with best security measures, cost, performance and operational efficiency in mind.
  • Participate in Solution Demos, often demonstrating the capabilities that their Release Trains have contributed to the overall solution Align technology approaches across Release Trains Foster communication and collaboration between Agile teams within the Release Train and all appropriate stakeholders.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Bachelors degree in computer science or related degree required.
  • Overall 15 years of experience related to IT delivery and SDLC.
  • AWS cloud certifications preferred.
  • 5 years of experience in technical/solution IT architecture and data management.
  • Experience in defining strategic roadmaps and establishing priorities, with experience in managing competing needs of multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong technical background with a core competency in understanding and defining OLTP vs OLAP data sets.
  • Broad knowledge of current technology trends and design patterns.
  • Experience understanding of relational, structured/unstructured and semi-structured data with designing data lake, data governance, data lineage and data quality.
  • Able to design efficient data ingestion, processing and storage, security and advanced analytics on cloud at large scale in real time, near real time.
  • Able to work across organizations to minimize data duplication, deep understanding of business domains at entity and attribute level.
  • Knowledge and experience in SQL and NoSQL.
  • Working knowledge of data warehousing, BI and advance analytics and reporting.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS big data analytics, Redshift, Kinesis, Lambda, Glue catalog, Athena, Airflow, Databricks, Python, Kafka, Spark and PySpark.
  • Understanding and working knowledge of Collibra DQ, Alation will be added advantage.
  • Ability to influence leaders, drive change and transformation while working across all levels of the organization.
  • Strong Knowledge of Agile methodology and frameworks like Scrum, Kanban, utilizing CA Agile Central/Rally or a similar tool.
  • Hands on experience with Agile techniques: User Stories, Features, Capabilities and Epics development and refinement, Continuous Integration, Behavior Drive Development (BDD), test automation framework, Continuous Deployments, Regression Testing, Pair Programming, Burn Down Metrics, Velocity, etc.
  • Executive presence, communication skills.
  • Hands on experience with software development processes and procedures to understand team needs includes fundamentals of iterative and incremental development.
  • Solid conceptual understanding of technology components, DevOps tools and practices.
  • Competencies Key Leadership skills including honesty, integrity, inspire others, commitment, passion, decision making, empathy, delegation and empowerment.
  • Listen and influence teams in problem identification/decision making.
