Job Summary

We're seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Patient Care Technician to join our team. As a Patient Care Technician, you'll play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our nursing staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform delegated patient care activities using evidence-based practice and specific competencies for the patient population served.
  • Check patients' vital signs, height, and weight, as needed, based on patient type.
  • Provide compassionate care and listen to patients' concerns, guiding them by answering any questions or concerns.
  • Identify and escalate changes in patient status or patient risks to prevent crisis.
  • Collect clinical data and information on patients and report to the care team.
  • Reposition, transfer, ambulate, and transport patients, as well as assist with basic needs such as hygiene, eating, using the restroom, and dressing.
  • Obtain and report patient intake and output.
  • Perform electrocardiograms (ECGs) as directed.
  • Perform phlebotomy and specimen collection.
  • Provide care that is age-appropriate, culturally specific, and developmentally appropriate in an environment that promotes patient safety.
  • Demonstrate professional and therapeutic relationships with patients, families, team members, and providers.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Previous healthcare experience preferred.
  • American Heart Association HealthCare Provider Life Support (BLS) certification.
Work Environment

Frequent exposure to sharp objects and instruments. Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock. Occasional high noise level in work environment.
