GENERAL FUNCTION: Under the supervision of the Program Director, the Concessions Staff member will be accountable for supporting various functions, including operating a cash register, serving food to customers, maintaining cleanliness and organization, adhering to food safety regulations, and assisting with inventory management and restocking.

MINIMUM ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Education/Experience Requirements:
  1. Minimum age of 16 years
Physical/Mental Requirements:
  1. Must frequently engage in physical activities such as bending, stooping, kneeling, twisting, reaching, sitting, standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 pounds, along with having finger dexterity, grasping, performing repetitive motions, and possessing the ability to communicate verbally and audibly while maintaining visual acuity for detailed tasks. Must be capable of working in both indoor and outdoor environments without climate control.
  2. Ability to perform basic arithmetic and manage cash transactions accurately.
  3. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  4. Strong problem-solving, organizational, and task management abilities; capacity to make independent and sound decisions in a dynamic setting.
  5. Demonstrated initiative in the absence of supervision.
  6. Able to engage with and work alongside diverse groups of individuals in a friendly and consistent manner.
  7. Must maintain a neat and professional appearance at all times.
Job Requirements:
  1. Commitment to the mission, vision, and values of the YMCA.
  2. Attendance at New Employee Orientation is required within the first month of employment.
  3. Must obtain a Food Handlers Card as per employment conditions.
  4. Understand and comply with all policies and procedures established by the organization.
  5. Availability to work a schedule that meets the branch's needs, including evenings and weekends.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Assisting with the daily opening and closing procedures of the concession area.
  2. Adhering to food safety protocols, serving food, and cleaning equipment and surfaces that require attention.
  3. Supporting inventory management, stocking, and maintaining an organized and clean concession area.
  4. Alerting the Shift Leader when supplies are running low and need to be reordered.
  5. Fostering positive communication with all members, guests, and YMCA staff.
  6. Participating in staff meetings.
  7. Contributing to Strong Community Campaign initiatives.
  8. Performing other assigned duties as needed.
EFFECT ON END RESULT: Ensure effective service delivery and a positive experience for members by collaborating as part of a well-organized concessions team.
