Bakery Order Writer Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Bakery Order Writer to join our team at Whole Foods Market. As a Bakery Order Writer, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our bakery department, including ordering, inventory management, and customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ordering and Inventory Management: Replenish products through proper buying procedures, monitor and act upon open PO reports, and ensure timely and accurate orders to maintain inventory turns.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service, address customer needs in a timely and effective manner, and model suggestive selling techniques.
  • Merchandising and Display: Maximize sales potential through effective merchandising and display of products, including prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and maintaining a clean and sanitary working environment.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the team to achieve sales targets, maintain a positive working relationship with vendors, and support leadership in conducting inventories.

Requirements:

  • 12+ months retail experience
  • Comprehensive knowledge of bakery, coffee, and juice products
  • Strong basic math skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency
  • Passion for natural foods and the mission of Whole Foods Market

Working Conditions:

  • Lifting 50 pounds
  • Standing/walking 6-8 hours in an 8-hour workday
  • Exposure to FDA-approved cleaning chemicals
  • Ability to work in wet and dry conditions
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
