We have an immediate opening for a Mechanical Assembly Specialist who meets the following qualifications:
- Preferred: Associate degree
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in testing, calibration, or assembly
- Familiarity with electromechanical systems, intricate mechanical assemblies, or sensor technologies
DETAILED RESPONSIBILITIES: The chosen candidate will engage in both mechanical testing and assembly tasks. This position offers exposure to multiple facets of the production process, focusing primarily on testing and calibration.
The responsibilities include:
- Constructing sensor systems: assembling mechanical parts, soldering electronic components, applying coatings to circuit boards, installing circuit boards into sensor casings, accurately cutting and stripping wires, and securing electromechanical assemblies using various bonding and sealing methods.
- Executing final machining, cutting, or bonding tasks on components such as sensor housings and fine wires.
- Building wiring harnesses and connecting terminals.
- Assembling circuit boards, connectors, ribbon cables, jumpers, and other electronic components into custom enclosures.
- Testing sensors and circuit boards utilizing electrical testing equipment and LabVIEW-based software.
- Actively participating in inventory management and conducting quarterly inventory audits.
- Completing the final assembly of sensor systems, ensuring the integrity of the assembly and certifying system readiness.
- Engaging in failure analysis by examining and testing returned hardware, and documenting findings in detailed reports.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant full-time work experience.
- Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship, with a commitment to quality.
- Proficient electrical and mechanical assembly skills.
- Knowledge of wiring harness assembly protocols for AWG 20-gauge or smaller.
- Experience with adhesives, soldering, and general machine shop practices.
- Proficiency in LabVIEW or similar software.
- The ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics.
- Understanding of sensor or instrumentation calibration procedures.
Compensation: $30-$38/hr
