About the Role:
B Student Living is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the physical aspects of our properties meet our established standards and any applicable laws.
Key Responsibilities:
- Schedule, monitor, and perform preventative maintenance and apartment turns.
- Diagnose problems and repair issues in areas such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, swimming pool, carpentry, drywall, exterior structural, and appliances.
- Respond to maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner.
- Ensure residential units are turned in a timely and efficient manner, and determine if work has been completed properly.
- Provide excellent customer service to prospective and current tenants, promoting a quality living experience for all residents.
- Use site management software to schedule and perform emergency maintenance work when required.
- Inspect buildings and grounds to ensure safety and cleanliness, and alert maintenance to items that need to be repaired.
- Assist the supervisor with scheduling and communicating with vendors and contractors.
- Assist with purchasing maintenance supplies for the property while staying within the planned budget.
- Accurately prepare and submit property invoices in accordance with established guidelines.
- Communicate with the supervisor regarding the overall maintenance function of the property.
- Participate in company-provided training, such as fair housing, safety, non-discrimination, and harassment prevention.
- Comply with all company standards, applicable health and safety rules and regulations, as well as applicable local, state, and federal laws.
- Achieve high productivity through reliable and punctual attendance, and report any tardiness, attendance, and disciplinary issues to the immediate supervisor.
Requirements:
- May require one or more of the following certifications: EPA Certification, Type I and II HVAC Certification, CPO Certification (pool), or other licenses and/or certifications as required by state law.
- A high school education or equivalent is required (college hours preferred).
- 1 year of electrical, painting, drywall, and plumbing experience.
- Must be available for night/weekend call duty.
Work Schedule: Generally, 9am-6pm, Monday-Friday, with extended hours and/or weekends being required as scheduled, or as needed to meet business needs.
