The University of Kansas Health System is seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accurate and timely preparation of medications for our patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist licensed pharmacists in the preparation and dispensing of medications, including intravenous admixtures, chemotherapy, and other complex medications.
- Operate computer systems to accurately input medication orders and retrieve patient information.
- Maintain accurate records of medication inventory and stock levels, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure seamless medication delivery and patient care.
- Develop and maintain knowledge of medications, including their indications, contraindications, and potential interactions.
- Stay up-to-date with regulatory requirements and industry developments to ensure compliance and best practices.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Kansas Board of Pharmacy registration required upon start date.
- Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification or equivalent required.
- One year of experience as a pharmacy technician in a hospital pharmacy setting preferred.
Work Environment:
This is a part-time position with a flexible schedule. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team to achieve high-quality patient care.
