Advansys is in search of skilled PowerBuilder contractor developers with over 5 years of experience for a long-term engagement aimed at modernizing an essential software tool utilized in a critical application.


The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of the standard software development lifecycle, which includes requirements analysis, design, coding, unit and system testing, as well as quality assurance processes. Additionally, experience in transforming business processes is highly valued.


Responsibilities include designing SharePoint and web-based solutions that enhance Preconstruction and Scoping business processes, contributing significantly to the transportation lifecycle.



Essential Skills:
(5+ years)

  • Proficiency as a PowerBuilder developer, specifically with PB10 or later versions.
  • Strong SQL capabilities (experience with Sybase is preferred, but SQL skills from any database platform are acceptable).
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.


Additional competencies include:

  • Strong analytical, conceptual, and technical skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills combined with a self-driven work ethic.
  • Ability to work with a custom base-class.
  • Proven communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate business processes to IT professionals and IT applications to business stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in C# development.
  • Knowledge of Java programming.
  • Familiarity with coding stored procedures and triggers across various databases.
  • Experience in a Visual Studio development environment.
  • Background in data conversion projects.
