Job Summary

As a Senior Financial Analyst, Assurance at Home Depot, you will play a critical role in reviewing areas of controllership, performing risk assessments, and evaluating business/operational processes to identify process improvement/cost-out opportunities and mitigate risks. You will contribute to planned Finance, Human Resource, Legal, and Communications projects focused on identifying and evaluating business risks, relevant internal controls, and related opportunities for internal control improvement, as well as being a key part of the Company's annual assessment of Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.

Main Responsibilities
  • Execute specified segments of a project, understanding objectives, identifying resources, meeting set timelines, communicating results, and presenting deliverables for the identified segment.
  • Determine objectives and risks of core and support processes that support a business strategy using the Business Process Review methodology, creating a process map, and identifying critical success factors, using data/metrics to measure the risk within the process and the impact of controls on the process opportunities, evaluating effectiveness of controls, and identifying sustainable solutions to fix breakdowns.
  • Create sophisticated data collection plans, identifying sources of data (operational, financial, industry, etc.), gathering, analyzing, and manipulating data, reviewing data for trends and exceptions, and drawing sound conclusions, using statistical data tools to graphically display and analyze results, reviewing, and creating cost/benefit analysis and financial/data models with limited supervision.
  • Accept and facilitate change by understanding the vision, assisting management with developing a strategy to ensure that the change lasts, identifying and removing barriers, and leading in implementing changes.
  • Effectively communicate project scope, strategy, status, and results to high-level management.

Requirements
  • Typically reports to Manager AMP.
  • No associates report to this role on a permanent basis, but requires the leadership of a work group.

Environmental Job Requirements
  • Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
  • Typically requires overnight travel.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Must be eighteen years of age or older.
  • Must pass the Drug Test.
  • Must pass the Background Check.
  • Must pass pre-employment tests if applicable.

Education Required
  • The knowledge, skills, and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.

Years of Relevant Work Experience
  • 4 years of relevant work experience.

Physical Job Requirements
  • Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position, and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions, there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of work experience.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or on track to complete CPA.
  • External Audit or Internal Audit experience.
  • Sarbanes-Oxley compliance experience.
  • Project Management experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Strong presentation skills and ability to communicate effectively with executive leaders.
