Our OpportunityWe are seeking an experienced Application Reliability Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our software development team, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and stability of our customer-facing applications.
In this role, you will work closely with our cross-functional teams to identify opportunities to improve application observability, automate repetitive tasks, and implement code fixes to resolve production issues. You will also conduct root cause analysis of critical production issues and plan and execute corresponding resolution steps.
To succeed in this role, you will need to have a strong understanding of software development principles, including version control tools like Git, continuous integration, and deployment processes. Experience with AWS services and Linux, containers, scripting, and SQL is also highly desirable.
About the Role- Identify patterns and opportunities to make applications more stable through automations, code changes etc.
- Enhance application observability by optimizing metrics, logs and traces.
- Perform code fixes for problem resolution and production deployments with minimum supervision.
- Do root cause analysis of critical production issues and plan and execute corresponding resolution steps.
- Conducting critical issue postmortem (follow up) meetings to engage relevant stakeholders like application team, production support and infrastructure teams.
- Build tools to go from repeatable to automated quickly.
- BS or MS degree in Computer Science.
- 3+ to 5 years of experience in software development.
- Experience with AWS services.
- Ability to decompose complex systems and find failure scenarios.
- Ability to write complex SQL statements.
- Strong empathy for the end user and a passion for user experience.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to multitask and attention to detail is crucial.
Natera offers a competitive salary range of $99,300 - $124,100 USD per year, plus a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, as well as 401k benefits and commuter benefits.
