Job Title: Licensed Vocational Nurse

ResCare Community Living is seeking a skilled Licensed Vocational Nurse to join our team. As a Licensed Vocational Nurse, you will provide high-quality nursing care to individuals with developmental disabilities, ensuring their health and well-being.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide nursing care to individuals as prescribed by physicians and in accordance with nursing standards and regulations.
  • Act as a consultant to other departments to ensure the growth and development of our programs and services.
  • Regularly attend and participate in Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) meetings to discuss individual care plans and goals.
  • Make recommendations for nursing objectives and criteria to address identified needs through comprehensive nursing assessments.
  • Work closely with other healthcare professionals to plan, evaluate, and implement programs and services to address the health needs of individuals served.
  • Complete nursing assignments within 30 days of admission and annually thereafter, including review of medication regimens, physical exams, health status, lab reports, and immunizations.
  • Ensure the provision of nursing and health services as outlined in state and federal regulations and divisional directives.
  • Ensure the provision of nursing services and programs as ordered by physicians and other healthcare professionals.
  • Ensure the provision of needed adaptive equipment and furnishings to prevent the spread of disease.
  • Monitor individual health status through the provision of general nursing services and ensure timely and accurate documentation of nursing assessments and evaluations.
  • Actively participate in health, nursing, safety, pharmacy, and infection control committees to ensure the implementation and practice of infection control procedures.
  • Provide in-service training in areas of health services, including required OSHA training for blood-borne pathogens.
  • Train staff on medications and side effects of medications.
  • Complete any other medically related training during orientation as needed.
Qualifications:
  • Completed post-secondary education coursework to facilitate licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN).
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) in good standing and currently licensed by the state.
  • Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written directions at a level necessary to accomplish the job.
  • Ability to relate positively and favorably to individuals and families and work cooperatively with other associates.
  • Knowledgeable of Individual Service Plans, including understanding of clients' rights, health needs, and program implementation activities, and have related experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
