Job Summary

Workhorse Capital is seeking a highly skilled Senior Design Architect to lead our design team in creating innovative and effective solutions for our clients. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the design process of multiple projects, from preliminary planning through design development and construction administration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate design efforts during all phases of a project, including bond planning, master planning, programming, schematic design, design development, construction documents, specifications, and construction administration.
  • Develop presentation strategies to effectively communicate design ideas to clients and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with consultants, contractors, fabricators, specification writers, and design team members to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to emerging professionals, promoting their growth and development within the company.
  • Participate in interview presentations, trade show conventions, and general marketing efforts to promote the company's services and expertise.
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects, prioritizing tasks and deadlines to ensure timely completion.

Requirements

Academic/Professional

  • Professional degree in Architecture from a NAAB-accredited university.
  • Registered Architect or pursuing licensure.

Competencies

  • Documented experience leading and mentoring project teams.
  • Excellent verbal and graphic communication skills, with the ability to effectively present design ideas to clients and stakeholders.
  • Adept organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, meeting deadlines and delivering high-quality results.
  • Knowledge of current educational trends and how school facilities can respond to them.
  • Knowledge of building codes and regulations.

Physical Requirements

  • Regularly required to talk or hear.
  • Frequently required to sit or stand for long periods, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands or arms.
  • Occasionally required to climb ladders to review conditions at job sites and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.

Experience

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience working in an Architecture firm and at least 3 years leading projects.
  • Experience in K-12, Higher Ed, and Commercial market sectors is preferred.
  • Proficiency with Revit is preferred.
  • Relevant experience with architectural modeling and graphic software, including but not limited to Enscape, 3DS Max, AutoCAD, Adobe Photoshop & InDesign, Bluebeam, and MS Office.
