Job Summary

The Certified Nursing Assistant will be responsible for providing routine daily nursing care and services to residents, as directed by the care plan. This includes assisting with activities of daily living, such as bathing, eating, grooming, toileting, and obtaining vital signs.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Assist residents with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  2. Provide and document medication assistance as directed.
  3. Assist residents with preparing for medical testing, activities programs, and visitation.
  4. Maintain residents' living areas clean and neat, and change linens as directed.
  5. Greet newly admitted residents and escort them to their rooms.
  6. Report changes in residents' conditions to the charge nurse immediately.
  7. Check residents routinely to ensure their personal care needs are being met.
  8. Assist with transporting residents to/from appointments, activities, and social programs.
  9. Assist with lifting, turning, moving, positioning, and transporting residents as necessary.
  10. Obtain and record residents' blood sugar levels using the Free Style Glucose Monitoring machine.
  11. Utilize the Smart Charting IPAC to record selected ADLs and meals.
  12. Complete incident reports in a timely manner.
  13. Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  1. A high school diploma or equivalent.
  2. Current certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or the ability to obtain certification within 4 months of hire.
  3. Experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant is preferred.
  4. The ability to move consistently throughout the workday.
  5. The ability to reach, bend, and/or stoop intermittently throughout the workday.
  6. The ability to see and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately.
  7. The ability to push, pull, or move a minimum of 100 pounds utilizing proper body mechanics and assistance.
  8. The ability to walk/stand 75% of the day.
  9. The ability to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.
