We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Director to join our team at Amazon. As a key member of our Operations team, you will be responsible for leading a team of facilities associates and ensuring a safe working environment for all.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Operations Team: Work in a safe, customer-focused manner and be highly self-motivated and customer-centric.
  • Develop Innovative Solutions: Design and implement innovative solutions to difficult problems, manage outside contractors, and be on call for emergencies.
  • Manage Multiple Projects: Handle multiple internally- and externally-sponsored projects and daily activities, manage and meet deadlines, and develop & track plans on how to accomplish departmental and distribution goals.
  • Ensure Safety and Compliance: Work with local site Safety department leadership to understand, implement, and audit safety programs, and ensure that all safety programs and procedures are followed.
  • Develop Preventative Maintenance Programs: Develop and maintain preventative maintenance programs and good working relationships with Operations leadership.
  • Facilitate Training and Development: Facilitate technical and safety training, as well as help to develop professional development of departmental Maintenance technicians.
  • Mentor and Develop Team Members: Mentor all Maintenance technicians by motivating and providing direction to help them achieve their goals and make a consistent effort to go above and beyond.
  • Develop Business Plans and Budgets: Develop Maintenance department business plans and provide guidance and direction for the successful implementation of those plans, and work with site Finance team to develop, set and track budgets.
  • Participate in Efficiency Improvement Initiatives: Participate in and support efficiency improvement Kaizen activities for the site, as well as the network when needed.
  • Develop Capital Spending Plans: Develop capital spending plans, facilitate cross-functional project planning, and perform cost analysis.
  • Own and Promote Excellent Housekeeping: Own and promote excellent housekeeping.
  • Participate in Network Calls and Conferences: Participate in weekly network Maintenance calls and periodic Maintenance Manager off-site conferences.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree or 2+ Years of Amazon Experience
  • Ability to Work a Flexible Schedule
  • Preferred Qualifications
    • Bachelor's Degree in a Technical Discipline
    • Ability to Travel to Various Sites
    • 5+ Years of Experience in the Distribution or Manufacturing Field
    • Experience in Automated Conveyors Systems and Controls
    • Experience in Electrical and Electronic Principles
    • Experience in Blueprint and Electrical Schematic Reading
    • Experience in CMMS Programs
    • Experience in Preventative Maintenance Procedures
    • Experience in Industrial Electrical, Industrial Controls, Industrial Electronics, and Industrial PC Literacy
    • Ability to Develop and Maintain a Partnership and Communicate Effectively
    • Ability to Multitask and Prioritize Multiple Projects
    • Six Sigma Certification
    • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing Principles
