Job Overview

The University of Oklahoma is seeking a highly organized and self-motivated Procurement Specialist to join the Business Operations team as the Purchasing Coordinator. This role will be responsible for overseeing all purchasing-related duties, including supplier management, RFP management, and purchase order management.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee complex purchases to meet departmental needs for goods and services
• Advise and assist departments in the selection of supplies and equipment, and in the preparation of requisitions
• Analyze bid comparisons from several vendors and determine the acceptable bidder for contracts, keeping within budgetary limitations
• Review requisitions for accuracy and place orders with vendors
• Manage new vendor onboarding and creation of purchase orders
• Coordinate the resolution of overdue orders or resolve unfulfilled vendor contract obligations
• Work with vendors and departments to ensure timely processing of invoices and payments
• Manage small dollar purchase orders and RFP process

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Accounting, or related field
• 36 months of purchasing experience, including responsible buying and/or materials management
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and able to navigate and maintain databases
• Excellent customer service skills and detail-oriented for accuracy of data and information
