Culinary Specialist

Key Responsibilities:

  • Skillfully prepare and cook a variety of hot and cold dishes, including soups, sauces, salads, and special entrees, along with catering needs as directed by the supervisor.
  • Assess the quality and freshness of food items being served.
  • Monitor food temperatures to ensure the delivery of high-quality meals.
  • Create an exceptional dining experience that surpasses customer expectations.
  • Foster a work environment characterized by teamwork, respect, integrity, outstanding customer service, financial accountability, and a relentless pursuit of excellence.
  • Comply with all food safety regulations set forth by CSG, as well as state and federal guidelines, and any other relevant health and safety standards.
  • Utilize food equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain a clean and secure workspace.
  • Communicate effectively, demonstrating a thorough understanding of verbal instructions, written recipes, and production orders.
  • Keep accurate records while employing creative cooking techniques in daily menu preparation.
  • Adhere to all HACCP policies and procedures while overseeing the food flow.
  • Prepare an effective food station setup prior to service, equipped with the necessary tools and ingredients as determined by the supervisor.
  • Ensure the efficient distribution of food to CSG customers.
  • Receive, unpack, and organize deliveries in appropriate storage areas following supervisor's guidance.
  • Maintain a sanitized workstation at all times.
  • Complete all side work responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • This role may require performing additional duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor or client.

Requirements:

Our Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • A High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent education.
  • Preferred: ServeSafe certification.
  • Desired: Coursework in institutional cooking and food service sanitation.
  • Experience in a healthcare or contract food service setting is preferred but not mandatory.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods.
  • Frequent reaching or bending.
  • Ability to lift or carry items weighing 10 lbs or more regularly.
  • Occasional lifting of items up to 50 lbs.
