Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tech Operator to join our team. As a Tech Operator, you will be responsible for performing various general manual labor tasks, including hydro blasting, vacuum truck work, tank cleaning, and hydro excavation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide helper functions as directed for all services, including hydro blasting, vacuum truck work, tank cleaning, and hydro excavation.
  • Load hoses and other equipment required for an assigned job onto the truck.
  • Hook up and break down hoses using proper tools, gaskets, and Teflon tape.
  • Clean up work area and equipment after work is completed.
  • Assist in maintaining a safe, clean workplace, restroom, and customer plant.
  • Inspect equipment, hoses, connections, pumps, and general work area before starting any job.
  • Report any deficiencies that may cause accidents, injuries, or lost productivity to the supervisor.
  • Report to work on scheduled time and notify the supervisor at least two hours before the scheduled time if unable to show up.
  • Wear personnel protective equipment prescribed by Supervisor- leadership on jobsite.
  • Promote safety through own actions and work habits.
  • Report all accidents and near misses involving self, company vehicles, or other job personnel to the supervisor immediately.
  • Perform Hazard Recognition Awareness to remove all hazards from the workplace.
  • Comply with all applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures of the company and customer.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisor and management personnel.
Requirements
  • Minimum two years' experience in hydro blasting, vacuum truck work, tank cleaning, hydro excavation, or grit/media blasting services.
  • Ability to travel and work overtime, holidays, and weekends (rotating), if required.
  • Some travel and night work required.
  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • Must have acceptable ID, pass a background check, and drug screen.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Possession of a TWIC card is a plus but not a requirement.
  • Must understand verbal and written instructions.
  • Must be able to read and write.
  • Must have basic math skills.
  • Knowledge of safe vacuum operations.
  • Knowledge of safe hydro-blast operations.
  • Ability to lift, push or pull objects up to 50 lbs. on occasion.
  • Able to withstand 70 psi of back pressure.
  • May reach above shoulder height and below the waist frequently.
  • May stoop, kneel, or bend, on occasion.
  • Move in and around confined, cluttered, and uneven areas.
  • Must be able to comply with all safety standards and procedures.
  • Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects frequently.
  • Work up to a 12-hour shift doing hard physical work in varying temperatures and outside conditions.
