Key Responsibilities:
As a Sous Chef, you will be expected to:
- Exhibit Culinary Expertise: Prepare food items to the highest culinary standards, ensuring an exceptional dining experience for residents while managing portion control and minimizing waste.
- Oversee Kitchen Operations: Supervise and evaluate all aspects of culinary service, including maintaining logs, inspecting cooking equipment, and ensuring food storage and service meet health and safety standards.
- Lead Culinary Team: Guide the kitchen staff in daily operations, fostering engagement, maintaining high expectations, and providing coaching and accountability.
Qualifications:
We are looking for candidates who:
- Are at least eighteen (18) years of age.
- Possess a minimum of three (3) years of experience in senior housing or a related field (preferred, not mandatory).
- Demonstrate leadership, training, and supervisory skills.
- Exhibit proficient written and verbal communication abilities.
- Have completed formal culinary training or possess equivalent supervisory or management experience.
- Are comfortable using Microsoft Word and Excel for documentation purposes.
- Can frequently lift and/or move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Are prepared to work in close proximity to extreme temperatures.
- Can work primarily indoors, with occasional outdoor responsibilities.
- Have a clear criminal background check.
