Medicine Journal is seeking a skilled and dedicated Certified Registered Nurse First Assistant to provide exceptional patient care in the surgical setting.

Job Summary:
  • The Certified Registered Nurse First Assistant is a professional responsible for direct and/or indirect care of the patient in the surgical setting.
  • This employee is a specifically trained registered nurse who demonstrates the skills, knowledge, and judgment necessary to perform the first assistant role under direct and/or indirect supervision of a qualified physician.

The responsibilities of this role should be in accordance with the Tennessee Nurse Practice Act. This individual also demonstrates the ability to assume scrub/circulator role in surgery when appropriate.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct and/or indirect care to patients in the surgical setting, ensuring a safe and efficient operating room environment.
  • Assume scrub/circulator role in surgery when appropriate, demonstrating expertise in surgical procedures and patient care.
  • Work under direct and/or indirect supervision of a qualified physician, collaborating with the healthcare team to deliver high-quality patient care.
Requirements:
  • Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Graduate from RNFA program.
  • Successfully completed RNFA exam.
  • Two (2) years experience in the operating room.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
  • Two (2) years experience as a CRNFA.
Position Requirements:
  • Current licensure to practice nursing in the State of Tennessee.
  • CRNFA certification.
  • CNOR certification.
  • BLS completed prior to going to the unit/department and maintained going forward.
