St. David's Medical Center, a leading 435-bed facility, is seeking a highly skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist RRT PRN to join our team.

As a vital part of our patient care team, you will provide high-quality, patient-centered respiratory care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the department, and consistent with the scope and standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty.

About the Job

This role involves coordinating and delivering diagnostic tests and therapeutic procedures, monitoring patients receiving invasive and noninvasive mechanical ventilation, and performing patient assessments to evaluate the need for and response to respiratory therapy.

Responsibilities:
  • You will administer oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy as required by patients.
  • Initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation, ensuring proper airway management and oxygenation.
  • Conduct regular patient assessments to evaluate therapeutic responses and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
  • Notify healthcare providers and intervene promptly in case of unintended responses or complications.
  • Transport ventilator-dependent patients safely and efficiently.
Requirements:
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification within one year of employment start date.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification within 30 days of employment start date.
  • State Registered Respiratory Therapist license and RRT/Respiratory Care Practitioner (RRT/RCP) certification.
  • Associate Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field.
