Medical Care Coordinator

Job SummaryThe Medical Care Coordinator has the responsibility of refining nursing knowledge and skills while working under the direct and indirect supervision of the Clinical Education Team. This role involves actively participating in quality and core curriculum classes, professional development workshops, and peer support groups, as well as successfully completing all clinical competencies and validation requirements of the Nurse Residency Program.
- Delivering patient care that conforms to accepted practice standards, including treatments/procedures and other care as prescribed and according to patient care standards.
- Providing discharge teaching and identifying emergency situations, initiating advanced therapy as needed.
- Evaluating patient care measures instituted and documenting same, recognizing unit problems and taking responsibility for resolving issues.
This non-management role reports to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive.
Requirements- An Associate's degree in Nursing is required, with a Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
- Graduation from an accredited school of Nursing program approved by the South Carolina State Board of Nursing is required.
- A temporary license/Graduate Nurse licensure may be accepted upon receipt of diploma, authorization to test, and NCLEX testing date.
The estimated salary range for this role is $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
