Job Summary

The Certified Nursing Assistant - Unit Clerk is a multi-skilled caregiver and administrative professional who functions under the direction of the Unit Manager. This role assists with providing safe, age-appropriate care to residents by performing basic resident care functions and providing clerical support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Resident Care
    • Assist with providing safe, age-appropriate care to residents by performing basic resident care functions, including ADLs, ambulation, vital signs, and approved technical procedures.
    • Provide resident care under the direction of the Charge Nurse/Unit Manager.
    • Recognize and report to the Charge Nurse variations from usual behavior/status of residents, as well as resident care emergencies and respond appropriately.
  • Clerical Support
    • Maintain resident paperwork, including updating care guides and resident photos.
    • Manage resident outside appointments and schedule MD appointments.
    • Order unit supplies, resident nourishments, and fax orders to the pharmacy.
    • Assist with maintaining equipment and complete repair requests as needed.
    • Generate monthly resident care tracking documents for the unit.
  • Administrative Support
    • Act as a contact/representative and resource for residents and family members.
    • Support the overall operation of resident care and service.
Requirements
  • Education
    • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Licenses and Certifications
    • Certified Nurse Assistant.
  • Experience
    • Minimum 3 years related experience.
  • Skills
    • Ability to read, interpret, and understand verbal instructions.
    • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
    • Ability to read, write, and comprehend medical terminology.
    • Basic math skills.
    • Ability to perform under stressful conditions.
    • Patience, tact, cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm.
