Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Cargo Transport Specialist to join our team at Performance Foodservice. As a vital member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for delivering and unloading food and related products to customers in a safe and timely manner.

Our sales reps, chefs, consultants, and other experts work closely with each customer to provide advice on improving operations, menu development, product selection, and operational strategies.

Responsibilities:

  1. Delivering Excellence: Safely drive a tractor-trailer or straight truck to deliver and/or unload food and related products to customers in accordance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
  2. Customer Service Champion: Communicate and interact with customers, vendors, and coworkers professionally to ensure questions are answered accurately and in a timely manner.
  3. Safety First: Perform all required safety checks, including pre/post trip inspections, to ensure compliance with DOT regulations and company safety standards.
  4. Logistics Expertise: Plan and execute delivery routes efficiently, ensuring on-time delivery and minimizing delays.
  5. Documentation Mastery: Complete accurate and legible paperwork associated with freight, including invoices, receipts, and other documentation as required.

Requirements:

  • Valid CDL-A License: Must hold a valid Commercial Driver's License with an Air Brakes endorsement.
  • 6+ Months Experience: At least 6 months of experience in commercial driving is required.
  • Clean MVR: A clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) for the past 3 years is mandatory.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to hand-lift and utilize two-wheeler, lift gate, and/or other equipment to move and/or stack product cases/freight of varying size and weight throughout the shift.
