Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Certified Phlebotomy Technician to join our team at Memorial Hermann Health System. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for collecting blood samples from patients, processing laboratory specimens, and reporting results to healthcare providers.

Responsibilities
  • Collect blood samples from patients using aseptic techniques and phlebotomy equipment.
  • Process laboratory specimens, including centrifugation, labeling, and storage.
  • Report laboratory results to healthcare providers, including physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of laboratory results and patient information.
  • Collaborate with laboratory staff to ensure efficient and effective laboratory operations.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to ensure high-quality laboratory services.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Phlebotomy certification required, such as ASCP, ACA, AMT, NHA, or NCCT.
  • One year of clinical work experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
Working Conditions

This position requires working in a laboratory setting, which may involve exposure to biohazardous materials, chemicals, and other hazardous substances. The employee must be able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safety protocols to minimize exposure.
