Magnet Medical is seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to work as a CT Scan Technologist in Washington, D.C. This is a travel job opportunity that requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team to provide high-quality imaging services to patients.
About the JobThis role involves operating computed tomography (CT) scanners to perform diagnostic imaging procedures for patients. The successful candidate will be responsible for obtaining high-quality images of a patient's body, which are used by physicians to diagnose conditions such as injuries, infections, cancers, and other abnormalities.
Key Responsibilities- Patient Preparation and Communication: Prepare patients for CT scans by explaining the procedure, answering any questions, and ensuring they are comfortable.
- Verify patient information, including medical history, allergies, and prior imaging, to ensure accurate diagnosis and appropriate imaging protocols.
- Position patients properly on the CT table to obtain the necessary images, ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the process.
- Instruct patients on how to hold their breath or remain still during scans, as required by the procedure.
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, and be able to maintain accurate records. A strong background in diagnostic imaging, particularly with CT scanners, is essential for this role.
Requirements and QualificationsTo be considered for this position, you must have:
- A degree in Radiologic Technology or a related field.
- Certification in CT scanning from a recognized accrediting body.
- At least 2 years of experience working as a CT technologist in a hospital or clinical setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, including health insurance, retirement savings plan, and paid time off. Our estimated salary range for this position is $85,000-$110,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
