Job Summary

You will serve as an Engineering Technician in the Facilities Support Contracts Branch, Facilities Engineering & Acquisition Division, Public Works Department Earle of NAVFAC ENGINEERING CMD MID-ATLANTIC.

Key Responsibilities
  • Visit work sites to gather information on the scope of work, labor, materials, and potential work problems.
  • Apply comprehensive knowledge of technical engineering principles, building codes, and safety regulations.
  • Review and recommend approval of shop drawings, manufacturer's data, and materials from contractors.
  • Utilize computers and software systems to prepare specifications, cost estimates, and schedules.
Requirements

Qualifications: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

  • Visiting work sites to gather information on the scope of work, labor, materials, and potential work problems.
  • Applying comprehensive knowledge of technical engineering principles, building codes, and safety regulations.
  • Reviewing and recommending approval of shop drawings, manufacturer's data, and materials from contractors.
  • Utilizing computers and software systems to prepare specifications, cost estimates, and schedules.
