CRDN of Greater Dayton specializes in the restoration of household items following disasters such as fires or floods. The Electronics Restoration Lead Technician will oversee the process of cataloging, testing, restoring, packaging, and returning electronic devices from affected residences or businesses. This includes a variety of items such as computers, audio systems, televisions, appliances, lighting fixtures, and portable electronics.

Experience Requirement: This role necessitates prior experience in insurance restoration or electronics refurbishment. Candidates without this background may be considered for the position of Electronics Technician with potential for advancement to the lead role. The ideal applicant will possess relevant experience, demonstrate strong organizational skills, manage multiple projects effectively, and exhibit flexibility. A passion for electronics, such as home audio systems, computers, or automotive audio, may make this position particularly appealing.

All new hires must undergo a background check due to the nature of CRDN's work with insurance companies.

Key Responsibilities

Technician Duties:

  • Complete the CRDN electronics restoration training program, which includes:
    • Operating the CRDN electronics testing equipment.
    • Disassembling, cleaning, reassembling, and testing various electronic devices.
    • Documenting all work performed.
  • Restore electronic devices under the guidance of the Electronics Lead.
  • Maintain daily production logs and submit them to administration.
  • Package completed items in accordance with CRDN standards.
  • Document, box, label, and store finished work appropriately.
  • Keep the electronics cleaning area, tools, and equipment organized and clean.
  • Assist in the inventory of incoming jobs.
  • Participate in packouts and deliveries as needed.
  • Achieve proficiency in the use of CRDN FSA.
  • Cross-train in at least one additional restoration discipline.

Additional Lead Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the daily activities of Electronics Restoration Technicians.
  • Train new Electronics Restoration Technicians.
  • Inventory incoming electronics jobs using FSA and photographic documentation.
  • Sort, tag, and label incoming electronics based on cleaning methods and status.
  • Collaborate with management to determine specialized cleaning methods for unique items.
  • Document items that cannot be salvaged or restored for administration.
  • Organize and track the storage of incoming jobs.
  • Participate in production meetings to prioritize jobs and adjust based on evolving information.
  • Manage cleaning tasks and track urgent job needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Work Schedule

Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. Overtime may be available when approved, particularly for packouts and deliveries.
