About the Role

Gastro Health is seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with providers to room office visit patients, taking vitals, entering history in the EMR, and updating medication lists.
  • Keep exam rooms clean and stocked with medical supplies.
  • Assist providers with rectal exams and hemorrhoid banding procedures.
  • Perform testing such as Fibroscans, bone density, and breath tests.
  • Prioritize authorizations for medication and infusion drugs.
  • Maintain logs for expiring infusion medication drugs with each patient's insurance and renew when needed.
  • Schedule testing and procedures for patients after their office visits and from incoming PCP requests.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 2+ years' experience as a Medical Assistant preferred.
  • Certified Medical Assistant (AAMA) preferred but not required.
  • Endoscopy office experience and ability to take patient vitals.
