Survey Crew Chief

Randstad, a world leader in matching great people with great companies, is seeking a highly skilled Survey Crew Chief to join their team in Elkhart, Indiana. This is a direct hire opportunity that offers a comprehensive benefits package and a competitive salary range of $52,000 - $72,800 per year.

• Oversee the daily field operations of a land survey crew, ensuring efficient data acquisition and accurate documentation.
• Determine the most efficient plan of action for data acquisition, including primary control, construction layout, and as-built surveys.
• Communicate daily with project surveyors and technicians regarding land survey project schedules and work progress.
• Interact professionally with client representatives and land owners, ensuring excellent customer service.
• Read and interpret construction drawings/specifications, understanding all aspects of the land survey project specifications and tolerances.
• Prepare daily reports, time sheets, and other required paperwork, maintaining accurate records.
• Maintain land surveying vehicles and field equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition.

• Competent operating total stations, GNSS receivers, data collectors, and tablet PCs.
• Experience with Trimble equipment is preferred.
• Strong computer and technical skills, with proficiency in documentation and sketching.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to listen, write, and verbalize effectively.
• Proven work history, strong work ethic, and team-player attitude.
• Ability to travel for extended periods and work in all-weather climates.
• Ability to walk long distances and carry up to 80lbs.
• Valid driver's license, clean background check, and drug screening.
