The Healthcare Provider - Military Readiness will deliver services in an outpatient setting, ensuring qualifications that meet or exceed the recognized national standards as set forth by the relevant accrediting bodies. Uphold the utmost respect for patient dignity and adhere to the principles outlined in the American Hospital Association's "Patient Bill of Rights".
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate medical records for patients receiving treatment in accordance with established regulations.
- Participate in the clinic's Quality Assurance Program to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Adhere to the operational protocols of the medical treatment facility (MTF) where services are rendered and engage in quality control initiatives.
- Collaborate with various departments within the medical facility to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Provide and document medical consultations to patients via telephone as per MTF guidelines.
- Offer clinical guidance to supporting personnel during medical procedures.
- Ensure the quality and promptness of treatment documentation and reports.
- Engage in clinical education programs and quality improvement activities as directed by supervisory personnel.
- Comply with the MTF's quality control measures and standard operating procedures.
- Take part in clinical and quality review processes as dictated by hospital policies.
- Utilize the Military Planner Data Viewer (MPDV) system for readiness-related tasks.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution.
- Current Board Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
- Valid, unrestricted state license to practice medicine in the United States or its territories.
- At least one year of experience as a Physician Assistant within the last three years.
- Current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS).
Skills and Competencies
- Familiarity with the hospital formulary and the ability to prescribe medications accordingly.
- Capability to meet Continuing Medical Education (CME) requirements.
- Proficient in English communication to effectively interact with patients and healthcare professionals.
- Strong interpersonal skills to connect with a diverse patient population.
- Proficient in typing and experienced in using computer applications, particularly Microsoft Office.
- Competent in entering and retrieving medical data from various government databases.
- Adequate training to diagnose and treat a range of acute medical conditions.
- Ability to complete Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) training as required.
- Capacity to fulfill any mandatory annual medical or government training.
- Ability to obtain and maintain privileges at the designated medical center through the Credentials Committee.
