This role involves direct reporting to the supervisor and requires the safe and effective operation of various heavy machinery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a secure work environment that adheres to all safety regulations and protocols, utilizing the correct tools and equipment while remaining aware of surroundings.
  • Operate heavy machinery such as skid steers, man lifts, and power tools as necessary to fulfill job requirements.
  • Conduct daily inspections and maintenance on equipment, performing repairs as needed and following proper lock-out/tag-out procedures.
  • Ensure cleanliness of work areas through regular sweeping, shoveling, and scraping.
  • Adhere to safety guidelines to promote a secure working environment for both yourself and your colleagues.
  • Exhibit a positive demeanor and strong work ethic to foster a productive and unified team atmosphere.
  • Demonstrate reliable attendance and punctuality.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years old due to the nature of the work.
  • Successfully pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screening as well as a physical examination.
  • Prior experience operating loaders or other heavy construction machinery is preferred.
  • Willingness to acquire new skills and techniques on the job.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate effectively with a diverse workforce.
  • Demonstrated work ethic and capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to lift heavy items and work under various weather conditions.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to safety and cleanliness on the job site.
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and verbal communication.
  • Possess a positive, professional attitude with a readiness to travel.
  • Availability to work overtime as necessary, including weekends.

Physical Demands:

  • Capable of lifting heavy materials (up to 50 pounds) frequently throughout the work shift, with or without assistance.
  • Regular walking, sitting, bending, stooping, squatting, crawling, climbing, kneeling, balancing, pushing, pulling, and reaching overhead.
  • Ability to stand and work on feet for extended periods, traversing uneven terrain and climbing ladders and stairways.
  • Willingness to work in extreme weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, mud, and dust.
  • Frequent exposure to noise, dust, fuel, oil, and other chemicals.
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment and other safety gear as required.
  • Willingness to work a minimum of 8 hours a day and overtime as needed.
