Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team at Public Preparatory Network. This role is crucial in fostering an inclusive learning environment for all students, particularly those with diverse learning needs.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary based on experience and qualifications, with a range of $67,000-$89,898. Our comprehensive benefits package includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, life insurance, wellness benefits, paid time off, commuter benefits, and professional development opportunities. Additionally, employees are eligible for student loan repayment assistance and retirement plans with employer matching.

Key Responsibilities

As a Special Education Teacher, you will:

  • Collaborate with General Education Teachers in Integrated Co-Teaching classrooms to plan and deliver high-quality instruction.
  • Regularly meet with grade team members and other stakeholders to ensure all students have access to the curriculum.
  • Utilize various co-teaching models to enhance student learning experiences.
  • Engage families through regular communication and involvement in school events.

Instructional Duties

  • Address the diverse learning needs of all students in your classroom.
  • Design lessons that foster independent learning and critical thinking.
  • Utilize data to inform instructional decisions and improve student outcomes.

Building Relationships

  • Create a safe and supportive learning environment for all students and families.
  • Encourage student voice and choice in the learning process.
  • Implement restorative practices to manage classroom behavior effectively.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • A master's degree in a relevant field is preferred.
  • New York State certification in Special Education and General Education is desirable.
  • A minimum of two years of successful teaching experience, preferably in an inclusive setting.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and collaborative skills.
  • A commitment to fostering an inclusive educational environment.
